Derek Laxdal 1991-92 Capital District Islanders AHL Road Blue #8 CCM/Maska Ultrafil sz. 54. All sewn on, orange on white name and numbers (NYI had only white names). Also PHPA embroidered 25th anniversary patch sewn on front. CCM embroidered into hem in blue, blue, blue pattern. Jersey shows heavy wear, with the arms being the highlight. The right sleeve, to the right of the “8” has three large unrepaired holes, which appear to have been smaller holes which joined together. There are also a couple of board burns above the number. Down the sleeve, just below the orange stripe, are 10 more unrepaired holes of various sizes, two large. The left sleeve, also near the wrist area, has about 14 unrepaired holes, 4 of which seem to have connected to form a large one. Many of these holes have “run”, similar to cheap pantyhose. Front of collar may have been restitched, or sewn haphazardly the first time. Left shoulder shows heavy pilling outside. Pilling also shows inside on the sleeves, as well as the rear hem area, a probably result of an open fight-strap. General grime and filth visible along the white and orange hem stripes. Also PHPA embroidered 25th anniversary patch sewn on front. CCM embroidered into hem in blue, blue, blue pattern. Fight strap shows little/no use. A couple of small holes to go along with countless small hack marks along arms and stomach area of jersey. Jersey shows signs of extreme stretching along the triceps area on both sleeves. Overall, jersey shows moderate wear. From what I remember, CDI started the year with their NYI preseason jerseys (with training camp #’s), before switching to these. Hence, the lighter wear and reports of different jersey numbers while researching this edition of CDI. ACQ: DTG, Spring 2002
Wayne Doucet 1992-93 Capital District Islanders AHL Home White #17 CCM/Maska Ultrafil sz. 52. All sewn on, blue on orange name and numbers (NYI had only blue names). CDI patch consisting of Isles logo with “Capital District” in italics arced along top sewn on front. CCM embroidered into hem in blue, blue, blue pattern. Fight strap intact, with orange and blue threads stuck in Velcro. A couple of small holes to go along with countless small hack marks and an alarming number of blood spots (at least 20) scattered throughout the jersey, although most are found on the front and right sleeve of the jersey. Three to five holes (unrepaired) are located on each elbow. Jersey shows signs of extreme stretching along the triceps area on both sleeves. Jersey shows overall moderate to heavy wear, with plenty of grime and the really worn feeling to the material. ACQ: eBay
